Steve Litzow for State Representative

Steve, his wife Jenny, and their four children have been active in the community since moving to Mercer Island in 1995. Steve was first elected to the Mercer Island City Council in 2003 and was re-elected in 2007. As a Councilmember, he has served on the Public Safety Committee, the Planning Commission, the Senior Commission, Youth & Family Services, the Senior Committee, the Sustainability Committee and the Eastside Transportation Partnership. He and his family have enjoyed being part of IslandParkElementary School, IslanderMiddle School, Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club, and Lake Heights YMCA. Additionally, Steve is a member of the Mercer Island Rotary Club, the Mercer Island Senior Foundation, Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce, Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, Renton Chamber of Commerce and the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce and is a Board Member of Summer Search, a non-profit mentoring program for at-risk children. Steve began his business career 24 years ago when Procter & Gamble recruited him to join their Brand Management program upon his graduation from NorthwesternUniversity. He moved to the Puget Sound area 12 years ago to run marketing for a Paul Allen-backed technology start-up. He has served as a senior executive with CompuServe, CEO and Founder of Xpensewise, a venture-back technology start-up, and a senior executive with ShareBuilder Corp. He is currently a Senior Consultant with EMM Group, a management consulting firm.
