Spreading Love, Making Difference

We believe that education is a gateway to opportunities but the poverty in the Philippines is a barrier to many children. While the tuition fee at the elementary grade may be free, there are many children of school age who are not able to go to school because they do not have money for transportation, school supplies, and other school expenses. "Take for example the common knowledge that out of 100 school age children, only 57 will graduate. Out of the 57 who will enter high school, only 30 will graduate high school. It is also estimated that out of the 30 students who will enroll in college, only 3 will graduate." (Source: Vox Bikol: The Real State of Education). The AmCham member companies try to help through the AmCham Foundation in giving children have access to education by providing them money for transportation, school supplies, etc. If everybody helps, if everybody does a little bit, it will make a big difference. If everyone contributes a little, it will unite us. We are our brother's keeper. It is not just when you have made millions, when you are a captain of industry - it starts with everybody, with just a little help. The AmCham Foundation is not just raising money but also about spreading love. Give back to the world.
